What you'll do

As an Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software across our client and product portfolio. You will collaborate closely with product, data, and design to build reliable, scalable solutions, helping ensure Journey remains at the forefront of digital technology within the hospitality industry. Your work will support key product decisions, improve platform performance and reliability, and help enable future innovation.

Please note: This role requires prior experience working on hospitality SaaS products. Applications that do not clearly demonstrate this experience will not be progressed.

What you'll bring

[Key Attributes]

Experience: Prior experience as a software engineer working on hospitality-focused SaaS products is required. You will have experience building and maintaining production systems for hotels, restaurants, or hospitality technology platforms, and understand the operational realities of the hospitality industry.
Software Development: Demonstrated ability to design, build, test, and maintain full stack applications. Comfortable working across frontend and backend codebases, applying sound engineering principles to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript frameworks. Experience with frontend technologies (e.g. React, Next.js) and backend development (e.g. Node.js, APIs, databases). Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, cloud platforms, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
System & Performance Awareness: Understanding of application performance, scalability, and reliability. Ability to identify performance bottlenecks, investigate issues, and implement effective technical solutions.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to break down complex requirements, debug issues across the stack, and make pragmatic engineering trade-offs.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and decisions to non-technical stakeholders.
Attention to Quality: Strong attention to detail, with a focus on code quality, testing, and maintaining high engineering standards.
Adaptability: Willingness to learn new technologies, tools, and patterns, and to adapt to changing product and technical priorities.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and data teams in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
